Despite this, a boy named Rin bravely tries to master the controls of it and subdue the mechs to his will, but during the decisive battle for the Academy, Valimar still goes out of control, as a result of which the Alliance forces gain the upper hand. At the last moment, Rin still takes control of the mech, but it is too late and the only sure step to avoid imminent death is to flee. However, Rin is not going to give up - he intends to find a secluded place and hone his skills in controlling this huge robot in the time available.
