Max Payne 3 continues the story of former NYPD detective, Max Payne, who is trying to start a new life in São Paulo, Brazil while working as a teranim for the wealthy Branko family. After the tragic events of the previous games, Max finds himself in a protracted depression, trying to drown out the memories with alcohol and painkillers. His new job quickly turns into chaos when Branko's family members are kidnapped, drawing Max into the dangerous criminal world of Brazilian favelas and high-level conspiracies.

As the story progresses, Max delves into a complex web of betrayal and corruption, uncovering the dark secrets behind the Branko family's seeming well-being. It encounters a variety of criminal groups, from organized crime syndicates to paramilitary units, each with its own interests and motivations. The game's deep and dark plot is told through intense cinematic scenes and the series' signature graphic novel style, which emphasizes the inner world and experiences of the protagonist.
Max Payne 3's gameplay combines spectacular gunplay, an innovative cover system, and iconic mechanics "bullet-time", allowing you to slow down time for accurate and spectacular shots.
