Kai Yuan is a city-building strategy game that takes you back to the 7th-8th centuries of ancient China. Your task is to build a prosperous city during the heyday of feudalism in China. Plunging into the gameplay, you will find yourself in the era of the Tang Dynasty, famous for its developed social economy and prosperous Silk Road. The Kaiyuan era represented a golden age for them, also known as the Kaiyuan Prosperity. To succeed, you must meet the needs of the population and guarantee the efficient allocation of labor resources. You will need to trade with other cities for a stable city income and organize trade between cities and regions.

Forming a powerful army plays a key role in keeping your city secure, and you should consider the financial stability of your city as your military grows. Training elite troops will strengthen your city's defenses, and assigning generals to command positions will improve the combat readiness of your troops. One of the most difficult challenges will be the construction of the famous palace of the Tang Dynasty, which will require significant labor and building materials. But with the right strategic approach, you can overcome this challenge. The game features a day/night cycle, as well as automatic seasons that you can customize to your liking. Each settlement you create in the game is a real-life settlement from the Tang Dynasty, with historical events specific to that era, such as the Kaiyuan Prosperity and the An Shi Rebellion.
