In May of this year, Define Human studio launched a large-scale Kickstarter campaign in support of the multiplayer platformer Islands of Nyne, which was their debut. The expected funds were collected in a month. This made it possible to announce the release date, which will take place this winter. This platformer is a representative of a new genre that is gaining great popularity - survival in the arena. One hundred players are located in different areas of the battlefield at the same time. A large area allows for large-scale battles. They will have to fight each other in order for only one to become the winner.
The gameplay stands out for its variety:
- Large, diverse arenas are presented, there are three models in total. They are saturated with a variety of elements.
- You need to look for weapons and ammunition, increase its power and develop your character.
- It is possible to use various vehicles.
Another feature was the appearance of a plasma ring, which suddenly activates and begins to gradually narrow the circle, towards the center of the arena. Thus, the opponents are close enough to each other. The safe zone is located inside the ring itself. Whoever finds himself outside it or on its border will simply dissolve, turning into emptiness.
Not without intriguing moments in game modes. There are three types in total:
- Single.
- Pair.
- Team.
At first, each of the hundred gamers will fight only for themselves. The next step is to find a partner. And in the final, you will need to assemble a team of five people. It is noteworthy that the rules remain unchanged, regardless of the regime. In addition, there is an opportunity to practice using the training, single player mode. At the same time, his indicators will not be taken into account in the overall standings. The first version will be released for platforms such as Windows and OS X. Active work is underway to create a variant for VR helmets, and nextgen consoles.
