Such a radical change in the genre, at the same time, benefited the game. She got rid of a certain touch of "frivolity", unacceptable in a war with the undead.

Unlike the previous parts, which were shooters, albeit with a very unscrupulous plot, Dead Rising 3 is made in the now fashionable survival genre. The main character is thrown into the city of Los Perdidos, lost somewhere in America. There he will have to survive among the crowds of the living dead (of which there are really many), while trying to leave the city limits. The fact is that the American army decided to end the problem of the living dead once and for all by destroying Los Perdidos with one accurate air strike.
However, there are still survivors in the city, and this is not only the main character, who is constantly short of ammunition and weapons, but also other people.
