The protagonist is Sly, a detective who has spent his entire life on Anachronox, an artificially created planet. It is located inside the Great Sender. Thanks to this central beacon, instant travel between different places in space is possible.
It's hard to say that the work of a detective brought enough money. On the contrary, Sly had huge debts and made enemies. The last time, a meeting with the borrower almost did not lead to the death of the protagonist. It was this situation that awakened in him the desire to earn money and pay off debts.
And so, luck smiled on Sly. He was able to find a new job: now he is part of a team of space travelers who perform various tasks. Moving through space from one planet to another, the main character and his newly-made team increasingly find themselves in problematic situations, from which it becomes very difficult to get out.
All events in the Anachronox game take place in real time, but battles with enemies are turn-based.
